A legal document giving information required for employment of certain people in certain countries. In most countries, immigration law require travellers to be in possession of a valid visa (unless country to country agreements exists) prior to travelling to and entering the destination country. In addition, a work permit is usually required prior to entering a country where employment related activities are undertaken. The exception to this is where country laws specify that the work permit must be obtained whilst in the destination country. The visa must be appropriate for the type of activity that is to be undertaken in the destination country.
Residence Permits/Registration
Many countries require a Expat to make application for a Residence Permit and/or register with the local government authorities. The requirements will vary from country to country, however this document and/or process usually acts as your documentation for legal residence during your stay in the host country.
In countries where the foreign national is required to obtain the residence permit and/or undertaking the registration process. it is usually required within a specified time and fines apply for non compliance. The employee must ensure this process is undertaken when required and within the specified period. Failure to do so may result in a penalty or late fee.
